In this guest post by Jimmy D. Brown, learn how to let the big product launches set a fire under your sales of a similar, but lower-priced product.

Here’s a guest column I should have shared with you a couple of weeks ago, but I was extremely busy. After reading it, I decided the post is timeless. You can use this information again and again. So I am going to share it here. Jimmy D. Brown is one of my favorite teachers. He has a great knack for making things crystal clear.

By Jimmy D. Brown

Did you know that other people “warm up” your customers for you with their “big product launches”?

And, did you further know, that a huge opportunity for you to create sales for YOUR product or a product you promote as an affiliate can be the result?

If, that is, you “borrow” the buzz that other people are generating.

Imagine this scenario…

Mr. Marketer creates a new $2,000 product. He “launches” it with his friends. Everyone on the forums is talking about it. Every email sent out within the marketplace has something to say about it. Bloggers are raving. The whole industry is buzzing about the new launch.

The average conversion rate is 2%. And that’s not on $2,000 products. But, let’s assume that Mr. Marketer is the best in the biz. And he can generate something obscene like 25% conversion rate on a $2,000 offer (which, by the way, ain’t likely to happen).

IF that were to happen, the flipside is this: 75% DON’T BUY.

In other words, for every 100 visitors to the “launch” site, 75 of them walk away without buying.

Were they uninterested? If that’s the case, they likely wouldn’t have visited the site in the first place.

In the majority of the cases, the $2,000 price tag was out of their reach. Not in the budget. Don’t have the money. Been there, done that … didn’t have the cash to buy the t-shirt!

So, what can we learn from this?

We can learn…

These 75 out of every 100 who don’t buy are probably interested to some degree.

These 75 out of every 100 have heard all of the buzz and have been “presold” on the premise of the product.

These 75 out of every 100 are strong candidates to buy a lower-priced, related alternative.

That’s where YOU come into the picture.

You “borrow” the buzz that’s been generated for the big product being talked about by everyone as you promote a lower-priced, related alternative!

Here’s how you do it…

Look for high-dollar launches in your market.

1. The first step is to keep your eye on the pulse of your market. Whenever a major new product is being launched, get busy. You’ll usually know days, if not weeks, in advance because that’s how launches work: they do a lot of “pre” build-up work to get people salivating for the eventual launch. Keep your eyes out for anything new in the works.

2. Promote a low-cost alternative.

It doesn’t matter if you write a quick 10-15 page report, promote your own existing product that is related or grab an affiliate link to some other existing product or service. It doesn’t really matter WHERE you obtain this lower-priced alternative. The important thing is that you find one. It needs to be related to the topic of the big product being launched. It can be related either (a) by teaching a similar concept, or (b) teaching a portion of the big product’s concept.

3. Write a mailing that explains the two options.

You’ll want to write a mailing to send to your subscribers or to post at your blog. This mailing needs to contain three important elements…

- Content that presells. Share some meaty nuggets related to the offer you are ultimately going to promote to set the table.

- A small blurb about big launch with your link. Mention the “major” launch briefly. Describe it’s benefits and use an affiliate link of yours to point to the offer. Mention that it’s only drawback is “price”. Express that many people can’t afford it.

- A stronger promotion for your option. Then, really hit home with this “lower-priced, related alternative”. Let them know the benefits are similar at a fraction of the cost. Be sure to point out that it’s priced for everyone — especially those who feel “left out” of the big budget launch because they can’t afford it.

Then, it’s just a matter of getting that mailing out to your subscribers.

Let’s look at what you have in place as a result of this strategy…

You have two promotions: a minor one for the same “major” launch everyone else is promoting, and a “major” one for the lower-priced, related alternative.

You have “borrowed buzz”. Everyone in the marketplace is warming up prospects with all of their “talk” about the importance of the subject matter of the “big product launch”. They are primed and ready to buy … something!

You have a spike in sales coming.

This is a wonderful strategy for getting extra sales.

Remember, there are always a whole lot more people who DON’T buy the product being offered in the “launch”, than those who do! You’ve got a huge pool of prospects in the 75-98% of people who don’t buy the $2,000 offer. Many of them WILL buy a lower-priced, related alternative.

So, the only thing left for you to do is get started.

And if you’ve like a shortcut, let me show you a quick way to do it TODAY.

You have almost certainly seen that Product Launch Formula 3.0 (PLF3) has launched this week. Everyone is talking about it. While there are a lot of different strategies and ideas involved in a “launch”, the backbone is the same…

*** Other people send you the majority of your traffic.

It’s obviously a very *HOT* topic right now. People are scrambling to pay BIG BUCKS for the course.

But…

Do you think everyone can afford it?

What about the tens of thousands of internet marketers who can’t afford it, but who ARE INTERESTED in the subject?

What a shame to let them sit by without getting any sales from them!

But, don’t worry — you CAN get sales from them! Here’s how…

You offer them something for PENNIES on the dollar that provides the same end result: other people sending them traffic for their products and services!

A few days ago Jimmy D. Brown announced a resale rights offer for his SalesArmySecrets.com course.

All the details are at http://www.infoprofitshare.com/go.php?offer=mingcomm&pid=49

There are still licenses available for YOU to grab in order to sell a low-cost alternative to the high-dollar “launch” product that everyone is jabbering about.

***BUT IT GETS BETTER — FREE PLR to $20 Report! ***

Jimmy wrote a report several months ago which he briefly made available to one of his membership sites. It’s entitled “How To Get R.I.C.H. With Your Own Affiliate Program”.

(It was pulled after a month and is no longer available anywhere.)

The report is 21 meaty pages in itself, but it also strongly promotes the Sales Army Secrets course at the end.

When you order one of the remaining licenses for Sales Army Secrets, Jimmy is going to give you (no cost!) a free PLR license to the special report!

You can sell the report for $20, give it away, do whatever you want with it (as long as you don’t misrepresent it or mention Jimmy in reference to it)…

…while using the endorsement at the close of the report to promote YOUR COPY of Sales Army Secrets!

It’s a ready-made marketing report to get people to buy Sales Army Secrets from you! You can sell Sales Army Secrets for $97 per order and keep 100% of every sale!

Here’s what you need to do…

1. Order the Sales Army Secrets resale rights license at http://www.infoprofitshare.com/go.php?offer=mingcomm&pid=49

2. Register and open a ticket at Jimmy’s support center at http://www.Infoprofitshare.com and provide his staff with a copy of your receipt.

Within 24 hours someone will send you the download information for this special Free PLR offer.

That’s it!

Get one while it lasts…

http://www.infoprofitshare.com/go.php?offer=mingcomm&pid=49

There’s only ONE catch…

This special offer is for the next 3 days only. On Friday, July 2nd at 10PM CDT, Jimmy is shutting down the license offer and this Free PLR offer. They will no longer be available. Officially “retired” at that point.

Grab yours now: http://www.infoprofitshare.com/go.php?offer=mingcomm&pid=49

Then you can quickly “borrow the buzz” of those promoting PLF3!

Finding my passion helped me focus on my affiliate marketing niche -- helping small offline businesses build a successful online presence. Do you know what your passion is?

When trying to pick a niche for affiliate marketing, experts encourage you to go with your passion. Why? You have to do a lot of research and develop a great deal of content on the topic. You don’t want to pick something that bores you to tears.

The heart is a symbol of passion which can make a difference in perseverence in internet marketing.

Well, I’ve been struggling with the issue of passion. Back in the nineties, I worked with a nonprofit agency to bring a brand new program to Delaware where I lived at the time.

It was a microloan program called Working Capital that provided business training and very small loans to tiny companies. Based on the Nobel Prize Winning Grameen Bank model created by Muhammad Yunus, Working Capital was supposed to do for America’s inner cities and rural areas what the international loan program had done for India and some African nations.

I can’t remember a time when I felt more passion than those many evenings I spent meeting with groups of small business owners explaining the program and helping them form loan groups. Once groups were formed, members discussed their business plans and sought the group’s approval for loans.

I was a woman on a mission. I really believed in free enterprise and its potential to transform communities.

What made the whole experience so powerful was the atmosphere we created. We held networking events, brought in special speakers and formed a lot of business loan groups. The energy in our building was so powerful you could feel the excitement. During the five or six years the program ran, hundreds of entrepreneurs joined Working Capital.

Our Delaware program was so successful that we won a Presidential Award and were invited to help form loan groups for street vendors before the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

Thinking back, I realized that I poured so much of my heart and soul into that program that something inside me died with the program. I had a vision of little businesses transforming Wilmington in a similar way as successful minority owned companies changed the landscape of Memphis’ historic Beale Street. My hope died hard.

I created Savvy Marketing Secrets hoping to rekindle some of the passion I felt with Working Capital. By helping very small businesses harness the power of the Internet, I hoped to relight that spark.

Of course it’s not as easy to feel passion sitting in front of a computer screen as it was when I was meeting with real business owners. But tapping into that experience helped me remember my passion.

Many of the smallest businesses are not even on the Internet. But the net holds tremendous promise for business growth for those who take advantage of the various marketing tools. So my passion now is to use this blog to connect the dots to help businesses similar to the ones I worked with in Delaware.

I would love to hear your stories about your passion and how you are shaping it into your small business. Please leave a comment below.

December is a great month to take stock of your progress. It’s also a good time to look forward by developing goals for the year ahead. I spoke last time about the importance of setting goals for your blog. You need to be clear on your goals to create a successful blog.

I have been working on my own goals while working on my plans for 2010. I’m not alone. Most businesses and internet marketers are doing the same thing, so it was no accident that Lynn Terry, my mentor, would publish a blog post on this topic you should find very helpful.

It can be troubling if you didn’t achieve the results you wanted in 2009, but it also is a hopeful time in that the New Year brings a fresh start – a real chance to improve on what you were doing.

In her blog post, “Blog Boost 2010,” Lynn lists a number of ways for bloggers to prepare their blogs for the coming year. One idea I found helpful is to create an editorial calendar for your blog.

Plan your topics and the products you will promote to improve your chances of blogging frequently and of achieving the level of success you want.

Editorial calendars are tools that publications have used for many years to coordinate article content with advertising opportunities. It’s a tool that can work just as well online.

To learn more, you might want to read Lynn Terry’s recent post, “Blog Boost 2010.” She has turned some of her thoughts about preparing for the New Year into a PDF file you can download.

I will share some ideas of my own too, and my own editorial calendar after I return for the holidays. But this should get you started.

Please leave a comment with any questions you have or your thoughts on this topic. Here’s to our mutual success in 2010.

How to Write Articles the Easy Way

In a recent blog post, I suggested 10 different ways you could promote your website without spending money. In the next few posts, I will review products to help you implement the 10 ways I told You about.

30 Minute Article Marketing  System

Article marketing - Hands on keyboard

30 Minute Article Marketing System, a 29-page ebook by Melanie Mendelson, is a practical guide for anyone who is just getting started with article marketing.

Not only does Melanie deliver what she promises – a quick, easy way for you to produce an article in 30 minutes flat; she also describes the other elements to consider when using article marketing as a way to promote your website.

Here are some of the ways that 30 Minute Article Marketing System can help you succeed with article marketing:

This ebook simplifies the writing process to help you get started

Demonstrates how to select and use keywords in your articles

Describes in clear fashion how to optimize your articles for search engines, and

Shows three key ways to distribute your articles on the Internet.

Melanie’s 30 Minute Article Marketing System shows as well as tells. She uses simple, easy-to-follow examples that leave no doubt about how to implement her suggestions.

In the appendices, she provides a comprehensive list of article directories, a number of article announcement mailing lists, and a 30-Minute Article System Recap you can print and use over and over again.

If there is anything I would question about her product, it’s that she makes it seem almost too easy. It’s difficult to imagine how you could fail with this guide.

To insure that you accomplish your goal of producing your articles in 30 minutes flat, each step is timed. And Melanie even throws in a timer.

If you’ve decided to include article marketing as a tactic in your promotional arsenal, you can’t go wrong with Melanie’s 30 Minute Article Marketing System.

P.S. I should warn you that this link goes to an optin page first for the Six-Figure Secret. Don’t hit the back key, you’re on the right path.

Looking to cut the cost of marketing your website. Here are 10 things you can do that cost more time than money. . .

Times are tough and many small businesses have tiny or nonexistent marketing budgets. Still, there is no need to despair if you have time and are willing to do a little work.

Here are 10 things you can do that cost more time than money:

Participate in forums and online communities, offering help and information that will make others see you as an expert or a resource. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can identify places that your target customers frequent on a regular basis. That way you know you’re speaking directly to people who may be interested in your products or services.

Write Articles – Research and write a number of articles related to your website and your company’s products and services. Distribute these articles to various online article directories, like ezinearticles.com.

Write good content for your site and optimize that content for search engines with keywords people search for when they are looking for information. But make sure that content is also fun for individuals to read.

Research the keywords and keyword phrases people use when they are looking for information on your topics. Use tools like Wordtracker.com, Google’s free keywords tool, or a number of other products that assist you in identifying good keywords. Build your content around these keywords.

Read and post on leading blogs read by your target audience. Write comments that add to whatever the blog creator has written, not just empty praise. Whenever possible, add a signature that uses one of your keywords and links back to your website.

Issue press releases online related to your site or business, and use your keywords. You can also send press releases to related trade associations and your local media. Always make sure to refer people to your website for further information.

Develop a bio that acts as a call to action with a link to your site in all
of these vehicles, but take care to follow the rules.

Build a list. Include a link in your bio to an opt-in page where you give away a valuable free report or ebook that is related to your topic. This will help you grow your list, allowing you to stay in touch with people who have already been introduced to your company’s products or services.

Develop profiles on social marketing sites such as Facebook, and Twitter. Build relationships on these sites with people who may be interested in your products or services.

Create videos on your topics, using some of the content from your articles. Load those videos to YouTube with links back to your website.

Expect these strategies to take time, and be prepared to repeat the process continually to keep the traffic coming. These strategies work because many of the sites where you are posting content or comments get a lot more traffic than your website, providing your site with valuable backlinks that increase your visibility.

If you are looking for fast traffic, you’ll need to buy it using Google AdWords, Yahoo Search or MSN’s Live Search. But be warned, these strategies could cost you a small fortune if you don’t know what you are doing.

Everyday I get new insights on Internet marketing. Recently, I have learned a lot about the importance of knowing your audience. In the past I followed the advice of some of the top Internet marketers — mostly men, without question. Not anymore.

Many of my readers are women. And I am learning with fascination that women don’t use the Internet in the same way that men do. Men focus on the money. They want to get your information quickly and bombard you with messages — many promotional. A lot of women don’t respond well to that style.

Women want to get to know you first. They want to receive great information and build trust before they give you their name and email address. Sometimes they detest the mechanisms we have put in place to enhance or automate our marketing.

I spoke recently with a woman who was very put off by the requirement to sign in to a website that she visits almost daily. She visits the site because she loves the information.

Determining how our site or blog visitors feel about the way we present our information is never easy. People sometimes ignore surveys. You ask for reactions, but rarely get them. Still, people will tell others everything they hate about what you are doing wrong.

So my goal here is to open a dialogue and get you to tell me what you like or dislike about current practices on websites and blogs.

How do you feel about those pesky little sign-in forms? What about optin or squeeze pages that require you to sign in to get the free stuff?

How often do you like to get information or newsletters sent to your email box?

How do you feel about endless promotions for products in which you may or may not be interested?

Please let me know so I can share the information with other small business owners who are struggling to get it right. I’d like to thank you upfront for any comments you leave.

Should you use PLR or has the low quality of some PLR sites caused you to shy away? Consider what Liz Tomey has to say about private label rights products and how you can learn more before you put your money on the line.

I’ve always heard conflicting views about Private Label Rights Products.

Some of the negative comments have stemmed from the poor quality of some private label products because they were either riddled with spelling and grammar mistakes or written by writers who obviously didn’t speak English as their first language. Still others have complained about the poor quality of the articles or the mass distribution leading to the problem of duplicate content.

With most PLR sites, you don’t get to see what’s really inside until you pay. Sure, a lot of the sites offer money back guarantees but, is it worth the hassle? For those who are just starting out – the budget is tight – is it not? You have to be super careful of where every single dime goes. Is sinking your hard earned cash into worthless PLR sites time and time again until you find that perfect fit worth it?

So I was all ears this week when I heard Liz Tomey speak about how PLR as it is known in Internet Marketing circles has helped her brand her company, build considerable wealth, and made it possible for her to create hundreds of PLR products in a variety of hot niches that spread her name around the Internet.

Tomey says there is nothing wrong with using PLR as the starting point for a product, provided you alter it by adding new or missing information, rewrite it in your own style and maybe even create your own graphics. By doing this, you essentially create a new product, especially if you update it to reflect current trends, needs and problems.

Still even Tomey admits that there is considerable variation in the quality of PLR sites. As a leading expert in the PLR field, she often is asked her opinion of the different providers. So Tomey put together a special report with her reviews of the PLR sites she recommends. In her report you not only learn about the quality, but some of the distinctive elements of each source that might help you pick the best PLR provider for your needs and budget.

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favorite internet marketing mentors.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 5
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliate Payraise”

The word “overhead” is not a favorite among those who run businesses of any kind. Nobody likes the expenses of operating a business. And nobody really talks about them much when it comes to promoting all of the “money-making” products and services online. But, don’t kid yourself, there’s a lot of overhead.

That brings me to the fifth reason why I love affiliate marketing…

  ** You don’t need a big budget to make it work **

Do you have any idea how much money is spent running an internet business? There are monthly fees for…

* Autoresponders
* Hosting
* Management
* Advertising
* Scripts
* Much more

There are regular fees for…

* Licensing
* Outsourcing
* Support
* Customer Service
* Maintenance
* Development
* Recruting
* Much more

It’s not uncommon to spend tens of thousands (even hundreds of thousands) of dollars in operational costs — which is fine if you’ve been in business a while and are making the bucks. However, if you’re a newcomer, it can be taxing on your budget!

     SIDEBAR: I paid one girl over $30,000 last year just to oversee one small part of my business. No one talks much about it, but there ARE a lot of expenses involved before you get to the ”bottom line” of profit.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need a big budget to make it work! You can simply use a variety of free and low-cost marketing methods to generate clicks to your affiliate link. That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need a big budget to make it work…………………….

Jimmy D. Brown is the author of “Affiliate Payrise”, teaching you a whopping 27 ways to increase your affiliate commissions!
Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 4
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliate Payraise”

I’m sure by now you are well aware that there are those whohave reported HUGE amounts of money being made with their online businesses. What you may not be aware of is the amount of work involved in generating those “sales” (not always net profit, mind you … this isn’t “spendable” income in a lot of cases.)

That brings me to the fourth reason why I love affiliate marketing…

  ** You don’t need to manage an entire business **

While it can be quite lucrative, running an entire business with employees, inventory, partners, vendors, and other associates can be a time-sucking, frustrating ordeal.

Imagine…

* Processing refunds
* Putting out fires when partners SPAM
* Managing day-to-day operations
* Overseeing projects you’ve outsourced
* Recruting new affiliates
* Training everyone to help you
* Paying taxes
* Taking care of the paper trail
* Doing all of the “stuff” that business owners do.

Didn’t you want to start an internet business to make more time for important things in life? Why not make a lot of money WITHOUT making a lot of extra work for yourself?!

It can be a lot of extra work and stress. BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need to manage an entire business! You are simply responsible for promoting your
affiliate link… someone else handles all the rest. That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to manage an entire business.

…………………….

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 3
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliate Payraise”

Some people have the ability to persuade others and talk them into just about anything. Especially when it comes to influencing their buying decisions. They know how to push the right hot buttons, say things the right way and generally get consumers into an emotional frenzy to the point they are ready to click an order button.

There are two key words in that paragraph that really need to stand out in your mind: “some people”. Not everyone has this ability. In fact, only a few do.

That brings me to the third reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need to write a world class salesletter**

Have you ever tried to write a salesletter? There’s a reason why professional copywriters charge up to $10,000 (and sometimes even more) for a SINGLE salesletter. It takes a lot of experience and skill to write a top-gun salesletter, which is why most people have a hard time convincing people to buy if they do create their own products and website.

They simply don’t have the right salesletter in place to make it all work. Without good copy, it really doesn’t matter how spectacular the offer is, you’re simply not
going to get many sales.

SIDEBAR: The average conversion rate of site visitors who become buyers is reportedly less than 2%. That means 98 out of every 100 do NOT buy. That’s why
sales are so incredibly bad for a poor site … you *might* get 2 sales out of every 300-400 visitors.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need to write a salesletter! You simply direct people to someone else’s high-octane salesletter for THEM to convert your leads
into commissionable sales. That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to write a world class salesletter.

…………………….

Jimmy D. Brown is the author of “Affiliate Payrise”, teaching you a whopping 27 ways to increase your affiliate commissions! Tired of “tiny” commission checks? Grab your copy today at… Affiliatenaire.

…………………….
